Our Story
Based in Alexandria, Virginia, Service Never Sleeps (SNS) was founded in 2015 with a mission to address key social issues by connecting justice-minded individuals with meaningful opportunities to learn and serve. Through our Allyship curriculum, we help people leverage privilege to advance racial justice as a lifestyle.
Our Journey of Impact
Pro-Black, people-first, justice-seeking. SNS inspires and equips individuals and organizations to pursue equity from the inside, out.
Whitney began working on her SNS idea, and went full-time in October.
Launched the service Fellowship program (10 Fellows, 1,200+ service hours).
Launched the signature Allyship training, and trained 400+ people in Allyship, with 99% committing to the lifestyle.
Expanded Allyship workshops (800+ trained) and volunteer service (500+ hours). Fellows supported local DC nonprofits like Our Minds Matter and Calvary Women’s Services.
Trained 2,000+ allies, hosted the first national Allyship Summit, and launched the race equity training series. Graduated the 4th Fellowship class with a monthly racial equity learning curriculum.
Pivoted to virtual programming during the pandemic, training 2,000+ allies and launched the Virtual Allyship Program with 6 cohorts. Graduated the 5th Fellowship class, serving 14 nonprofits. Celebrated SNS’s 5-year anniversary.
Trained 2,700+ allies and hosted the 2nd Allyship Summit virtually. Graduated the 6th Fellowship class (12 nonprofits served).
Engaged 1,100+ allies in deepening their commitment to Allyship, with 96% committing to the lifestyle. Hosted the 3rd Allyship Summit introducing Black-Led Project pilot results (25 leaders engaged). Graduated the 7th Fellowship class.
Engaged 1,000+ people in Allyship, with 93% committing to the lifestyle. Expanded Black-Led Project research (100+ nonprofit leaders engaged). Graduated the 8th and final service Fellowship class.
Trained nearly 600 people, with 93% committing to Allyship as a lifestyle. Continued expanding Allyship practice across organizations and communities.
